The Diane L. Parker Educational Resource Fund® was more than just a program created as a resource for those who are survivors of Domestic Violence or have lost a loved to Domestic Violence, she was my "sister", my best friend, my dance partner, my praise partner and we shared rolls as each others cheerleader. I have walked with Diane all of her life. Our birthdays are a day apart(her's the 18th of October, mines the 19th) and our mothers, Dalma Torres and the late Yvonne Willett, were the best of friends since kindergarten. But on February 7, 2013, at around 1:56PM, my life changed forever, when Diane become a victim to Domestic Violence and left me to look after her only child, her daughter, N'Daya. In that very moment, I received and accepted the call and instructions for this mission from God Himself, to carry the banner of Advocacy and Intervention for the sake of other Survivors of this violent act, to bring an end to this Domestic Violence and bring awareness, advocacy and intervention to others who sit in silence and to make every offender ACCOUNTABLE for their wrong doing.
